About Manoj Kumar
My doctoral studies focused on synthesizing and characterizing ferroelectric materials with a perovskite structure (ABO3). Specifically, I worked extensively with Pb(ZrxTi1-x)O3 [PZT] and BaTiO3 [BT] materials, employing both the solid-state reaction method and Sol-Gel method for synthesis. My work on PZT ferroelectric materials involved investigating the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) near the composition Pb(Zr0.95Ti0.05)O3. By analyzing the electrical and dielectric properties, I aimed to enhance the performance of these materials through the coexistence of rhombohedral (R3c space group) and tetragonal (P4mm space group) structures. The main objective for the PZT 95/5 composition was to increase the remnant polarization and decrease the dielectric constant for applications such as shock wave and pulsed power supply. To explore pyroelectric, electrocaloric, critical exponent, and ferroelectric storage energy, I synthesized PLZT and BaTiO3 compositions. Crystal structural analysis was conducted using Rietveld refinement (Fullproof software or GSAS software) on XRD data, and the unit cell structure was visualized using Vesta software. In order to analyze the pyroelectric coefficient for pyroelectric energy harvesting, I investigated the temperature-dependent polarization vs. electric field loop. For electrocaloric analysis, I performed Maxwell\'s equation of change in isoelectric electrical entropy (∆SE). To examine the interaction among electric dipoles, I utilized dielectric spectroscopy to determine the order (short or long-range) of interaction.Additionally, I explored the critical behavior of relaxor materials to uncover the systematic effects of Polar Nano Regions (PNRs) on the electrocaloric effect (ECE) and ferroelectric energy storage properties. This investigation involved dielectric spectroscopy and measurements of isothermal P (polarization) vs. E (electric field) loops. My research in the field of physics has provided me with a deep understanding of pyroelectric, electrocaloric, and ferroelectric energy storage, and I am eager to contribute my expertise to further advancements in the field.
