15+ years as researcher, clinician and educator-leader in mental health and psycho-social care. Anti-oppressive and socially just clinical practices to uplift equity deserving communities! Research interests include the mental health experiences of diverse groups and ways in which social determinants- environment, climate change, gender, class, caste, racial, religious and ethnic identities impact holistic well-being; strengths-based and resilience focused interventions for children, adolescents, youth and older adults, intergenerational climate change research, evaluation of health programming in public and private sector.Rigorously trained in \"evidence-based\" practices for Children, Adolescents, Couples & Families. These models include Attachment-Based Family Therapy, Trauma-focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Family Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. Committed to understanding evolution and cultural adaptations of these models for greater acceptability among diverse communities.Experienced educator-leader for higher education in counseling psychology, having taught across Universities globally. Innovative curation, design and teaching of courses for undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral students.Course portfolio includes Research methods and statistics, self of the therapist and reflective practices, Counseling skills, Couples and Family Therapy approaches, CBT, trauma-focused MH, socio-cultural aspects of mental health, ethical principles for counseling psychologists. Educational leadership and administrative positions held include Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, Faculty Lead, Associate Chair and Program Chair which involved instructor mentorship and oversight, strategic planning and execution of curriculums and programming to promote student well-being and elevate instructor outcomes, efficiency as well as institutional belonging.Greatly interested in understanding the fit and modifications needed for cross-cultural research in mental health and global mental health. Commitment to Mental Health Awareness and Advocacy through being a facilitator and trainer for Community Stakeholders and support groups. Emphasis on Culturally relevant Psychotherapy and use of Expressive Arts in Community Mental Health. Execution of a client-centered, accessible as well as holistic approach to healing and mental well-being.Passionate about volunteering and involvement towards community advocacy, theatre, visual and movement arts, film and climate justice.
