About Mahitha Gogu

Transforming Healthcare Through Data, Technology, and CompassionIf you are looking for someone who understands healthcare from both the patient’s chair and the data layer behind it, you have landed in the right place. My journey began as a dentist in India, where I learned the value of empathy, precision, and patient-centered care firsthand. Over time, my curiosity grew beyond clinical practice toward understanding how data, systems, and technology can shape better healthcare outcomes at scale. That curiosity led me to pursue a Master’s in Health Informatics at Indiana University. Blending my clinical background with a strong interest in technology, I now work at the intersection of healthcare data, informatics, and analytics. I enjoy building and analyzing systems using Tech tools, Python, SQL, ETL pipelines, EHR interoperability, Axium, FHIR, HL7, CDS Connect CQL and clinical terminologies, transforming raw healthcare data into meaningful insights that support decision-making and digital health innovation. My projects include-I have developed CDSS logic integrated with EHR workflows by translating clinical guidelines into CQL using FHIR and standard terminologies. My work focuses on designing actionable, workflow-friendly alerts to improve clinical decision-making and reduce alert fatigue- An ETL pipeline integrating FHIR resources and clinical terminologies for structured healthcare data transformation- A statistical analysis of CMS Open Payments data (123K+ records,~$1.7B) to study geographic and funding disparities using ANOVA and regression- Machine-learning–based healthcare research focused on early disease detection and decision support As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, I have also had the opportunity to mentor students, support project-based learning, and contribute to an academic environment that values collaboration, structure, and real-world application, an experience that has strengthened both my leadership and communication skills. With international education, exposure to healthcare research, analytics projects, and informatics-driven solutions, I bring a forward-thinking, patient-centered, and data-driven perspective to modern healthcare.I am always open to conversations around health informatics, clinical data, clinical workflows, digital health, analytics, Axium, Epic, EHR and healthcare innovation. Whether you are a healthcare professional, researcher, technologist, or student, let’s connect, collaborate, and create impact together.
