ABOUT M. ABDUL BADHUL HAQ

I studied M.Sc – Coastal Aquaculture and Ph.D – Marine Biology. I have more than 21 year experience in research and academic aspects. Since 1994, my work has focused on the study of marine viral diversity and antiviral drug development. I was worked as Executive – The water base Ltd, Andhra Pradesh, India and Pathologist and Biosecurity Sr. officer – National Aquaculture Group of Company (NPC), which is the one of the world’s largest integrated aquaculture project with HACCP & EU standards at Al-Lith, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The scope of my research/academic were includes marine biology and Oceanography, fisheries science, Aquaculture, marine microbiology, marine biotechnology and ocean science and technology. Since 2009, I am working as Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) – Marine Biology at Faculty of Marine Sciences, Annamalai University, India. I am also under taking two major research projects, funded by UGC and SERB – DST, Government of India as a principle Investigator and three more research projects were completed as a Co-Investigator. I got “Young Scientist” awarded from the DST Govt of India. In my own effort, I made the infrastructural building on “Marine Virology Laboratory”. I currently supervised/supervising 13 Ph.D & 3 M.Phil research scholar and 21 M.Sc research projects. I have published more than 52 national and internal publications. And also I published 3 books and 5 book chapters. I organised and demonstrated molecular pathology training program for national and international research fellow’s and also I served as a Co-organizers in various program of seminar, training and conference. I deposited and received the gene bank accession number from the NCBI in around 51 marine shell and fin fish viruses, viral proteins and its host genome. I made the DNA sequencing primers for novel and existing marine viruses. My current work focuses on the DNA barcode, molecular pathogenesis of marine viruses and on host-virus interactions with specific antiviral vehicles.
