I serve as the HR Policy and Operations Chief for SEA10H, Human Resources Directorate. I am the trusted advisor for the Deputy Director and HR Director, leading 3 of the largest branches in the Directorate, Classification, Recruitment, and Staffing for Headquarters and Field Offices. I am currently supervising, conducting training, and establishing the infrastructure among the 3 teams of 33 employees, including 3 GS14s subordinate supervisors. I have reviewed and reconstructed outdated policies that initially did not deliver clear guidance and instructions to better guide our population of 6,800 employees. Presently, management is facing a decline in operational efficiency for numerous reasons. I recently co-led and coordinated the August 2022 NAVSEA Hiring Event, resulting in recognized success by numerous organizations, ultimately receiving an Award for outstanding support and leadership from Hiring Officials and Administrative Officers (AOs). I was selected to develop strategies to determine the effectiveness of HR programs and practices to put in place for curing systemic problems. On a day-to-day basis, I ensure that the latest regulatory/legal guidance is incorporated into all Human Capital programs. I analyze HR management issues and recommend solutions within my three operational branches, also provide support to the labor and management branch, training and development branch and the human capital branch within SEA10H, Human Resources Directorate. In this instance, reinstituting the student loans repayment program process under the human capital branch, I am working alongside other supervisors and employees to always provide support, clarity, and accuracy. I act and have delegated Deputy and HR Director’s authority to perform and make sound decisions for SEA10H when they are not in the office. I attend and speak on behalf of the HR Director during meetings and conference calls when required.
