ABOUT KRISTENE DIGGINS
Kristene Diggins is a doctorally prepared Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), inducted as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Kristene has worked as an FNP in direct patient care for over 17 years in both Family Practice and Geriatrics. She was recently elected as on the Selections Committee for the Fellows of American Association of Nurse Practitioners. As adjunct NP faculty, Kristene was awarded the Certified Nurse Educator credential in 2014. She completed her Masters in Business Administration in healthcare 2015 and gained the Certified Nurse Administrator/Executive Advanced certification in 2015 as well. She developed a new model of healthcare delivery in the outpatient setting, which provides a partnership between pharmacists and providers for improved patient outcomes. She has published and presented on this work in various venues nationally, labeled the FNP/Pharm D Collaborative Model. Kristene works in retail healthcare clinical leadership. Her current position involves development and leadership of the practice of clinicians in the Convenient Care industry through the Convenient Care Provider workforce. Through this role she helped to create the first APRN Fellowship in Convenient Care, providing a 6 month transition to practice for new graduates. She developed Continuing Education courses, which included participation for over 400+ APRNs each month. She loves to volunteer, and has served many years in developing countries. Through this interest she has helped to establish several nonprofit partnerships, such as the Samaritan Fund which provides funding for patients in Brazil in need of medical assistance. Kristene is an avid author, and has published many peer reviewed articles, as well as a regular column for nursing inspiration in two journals. Kristene is strong advocate of the Nurse Practitioner profession, and plans to continue promoting this role throughout her career.
