My research field in the doctoral program at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR) is The design and study of nanoplasmonic metal-insulator-metal waveguide-based multiband/multifunctional devices such as filters like band-pass, band-stop, and ultra-wideband, multiplexers, diplexers, antennas, and couplers using step impedance resonators have been carried out as the research work. The multi-band and multi-functional devices work simultaneously at O (1300nm) & L (1600nm) optical bands. Also, I have designed branch line coupler and directional coupler operating simultaneously at O&L bands. A wireless link operating at a single band has limited applications in the future due to the increased demand for multiple functions using the same system. Thus, we require multiband wireless links to accommodate more than one standard and function. When multiple functions have to be performed; the single band system will become very complex and power-hungry. The simulation process is done by the CST microwave studio, Lumerical, COMSOL, Ansys HFSS, and Optiwave studio. Currently, I am working on graphene plasmonic biomedical sensors using metamaterials and graphene as a functional material. Measurement and fabrication are also being carried out. Further, the study on numerical techniques such as FDTD, MOM, FEM, etc has also been carried out.
