2020 SSU Early Service Teacher Award Winning Associate Professor with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry and early intervention. Skilled in Nonprofit Organizations, Event Planning, Marketing, Customer Service, Strategic Planning, and Educational Technology. Strong administrative professional with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) focused in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, and Teaching from East Tennessee State University and Shawnee State University. Research interests include providing diverse experiences to pre-service teachers in Appalachia; increased mental health services in schools for improved outcomes for students who have experienced trauma-what we can learn from the early childhoods of serial killers; integration of yoga into classrooms for cognitive stimulation for self-regulation and attributional retraining. Currently expanding research to yoga integration into OT/PT in early childhood therapies. Podcaster focusing on the early childhood experiences of serial killers and what markers may help us better serve our youngest students who experience trauma.
