Dr. Kendra A. Momon is Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Oglethorpe University.She is a highly sought-after political thinker, commentator, and public speaker on political and spiritual leadership, African-American politics, the Black church, Hip Hop, and leadership training and development. An expert on the life, leadership, and legacy of Dr. Martin L. King, Jr, her voice and perspective has been shared via The New York Times, The Washington Post, The LA Times, and the Atlanta Journal and Constitution. She is the author of African American Politics, a cutting edge examination of minority politics in America which has received praise for its ability to \"elegantly meld mainstream political science ideas and topics with innovative themes, a sophisticated historical consciousness, and continued demonstration of the ways in which African American politics is, and is not, American politics tout court.\" Her most recent book Being As Leading: Your Roadmap to Shaping Culture Through Life’s Disruptions was published in 2020.An in demand public speaker and writer, she has given keynote addresses and lectures for a host of entities including Lincoln University, The Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change, Georgia State University, Big Sisters of Rhode Island, and Kennesaw State University.
