ABOUT JUNAID AKHTAR
An enthusiastic PhD in Bioprocess Engineering with over 10 years of experience at world-leading universities and industries across Malaysia, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. Highly passionate about research and innovation in industrial biotechnology, I am skilled in process development, bioreactor and media optimization, scale-up, as well as upstream and downstream processing (USP and DSP) of microbial cultures, including aerobic, anaerobic, and gas fermentation. Currently, I work as a Senior Fermentation Scientist at Johnson Matthey. I have experience in upscaling of Food & Feed projects in compliance with FSSC and HACCP safety protocols. My research has been published in prominent journals like Renewable Energy, Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, and Journal of Wood Chemistry and Technology.
