ABOUT JULIA GRUMMISCH

Dr. Julia Grummisch is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC. She practices in Neuropsychology and Clinical Psychology. She presently works as a Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist at Vancouver Coastal Health and also does private work in Vancouver, BC. She completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Regina in 2021. She completed her Pre-Doctoral Residency in Clinical Psychology in the Neuropsychology Track at Vancouver Coastal Health, with rotations in the Neurology Department, Epilepsy Program, and Transitional Pain Clinic at Vancouver General Hospital as well as at the Older Adult Mental Health Service. She has also completed clinical training at The Ottawa Hospital, Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre, Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital, Saskatchewan Health Authority, University of Regina, and various other private clinics in Ottawa, Regina and Vancouver. She later completed post-doctoral training with Dr. Nick Bogod at Vancouver Coastal Health, where she gained further experience with neuropsychological assessment with a range of client populations.She has extensive clinical experience in psychological and neuropsychological assessment with adults and older adults (ages 18-90+), including those with brain injuries, developmental conditions, mental health problems, medical concerns and neurodegenerative issues such as age-related memory changes, mild cognitive impairment, and dementia. She also has extensive experience completing assessments for adult ADHD and learning disabilities. She is also experienced in rehabilitation and evidence-based psychological treatment of mood, anxiety, functional and somatic concerns, and psychotic disorders with adults and older adults. Her approach is client-centred, trauma-informed, empathic, and integrates aspects of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Humanistic Therapy. She is committed to utilizing scientific knowledge to help clients achieve their full potential in daily life.She is an active member of the Canadian Psychological Association and a professional associate at the Centre on Aging and Health. She has published research in various peer-reviewed scientific journals and presented research at professional conferences focused on topics related to neuroscience, neuropsychology, and women\'s health issues. She has been recognized for her research and clinical work through her receipt of several awards, including the C. Jillings Award for Excellence in Clinical Psychology.
