ABOUT JOSEPH OSCAR ULLOMI

I am an alumnus of Sokoine University of Agriculture and the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest.I am currently a Small Animal Veterinarian with CVS Group UK Ltd, where I joined the New Graduate Programme in April 2024 to navigate my transitional years post-graduation.My professional path began in Tanzania in 2013, where I initially studied Animal Health and Production between 2013 and 2017, qualifying first as a Veterinary Paraprofessional Assistant and subsequently as a Veterinary Paraprofessional. My deep determination, academic excellence, and passion for animal health led to me being awarded the prestigious Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship by the Hungarian Government in 2018.Through resilience, dedication, countless study nights, and unwavering hard work under the guidance of talented professors in Budapest, I realized my decade-long dream, graduating as a Veterinary Surgeon in February 2024.Despite completing a well-designed, EAEVE-approved course, I recognized the importance of foundational development. I joined the RCVS in the United Kingdom and undertook the Veterinary Graduate Development Programme, which I successfully completed. I am now in the final months of the CVS New Graduate Programme. Over the past two years, the comprehensive training provided by my mentors and tutors has been invaluable, significantly shaping my professional growth. While first-opinion practice offers both excitement and challenges, the commitment to work-life balance has been vital as I adjusted to a new environment.I consider myself an enthusiast in Small Animal Medicine, driven by a passion for the general welfare, health, and well-being of animals. I am currently focused on dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs, and I am proud to be part of an excellent team. My daily focus is on expanding my theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience to become a highly proficient practitioner.I plan to explore various areas before committing to a specialization. I am particularly eager to pursue small animal surgery, alongside interests in medicine, oncology, dermatology, gastroenterology, cardiology, and pathology. I also consistently work to enhance my diagnostic imaging skills and I have seen particular improvement in basic ultrasonography.I am keen to build strong relationships and connections that will foster my potential for growth.
