About John Tuders

Time and relationships are our most valuable assets. I believe in protecting and maximizing both. For the past two decades, I’ve experienced the power of depositing more into relationships than I withdraw, and now I get to pass along that valuable lesson to others in my professional and academic work. By day, I am a Founding Partner and lead our Growth & Development at Cabin, a strategic digital design and development firm based in Charlotte. Here, I work with many different cohorts of employees (from new hires up to executives) to develop relational and communicational intelligence to take their careers to the next level. I love helping a young company grow – especially one that focuses so much on humans, from the employees we hire, to the clients we serve, to the users and customers they help. Prior to working in business development and human development at Cabin, I spent 4 years at Skookum/Method, 18 years with Bank of America as a builder of businesses, teams, and people. During that time, I also started teaching design thinking and innovation, executive communication, and human behavior in organizations to undergrad and grad students at UNC Charlotte, where I have been a business school professor for over 12 years. These two roles solidified my passion for helping people make the bridge from the classroom to the boardroom. Teaching at Charlotte has been so rewarding that I expanded outside the classroom to lead workshops, train, and coach many leaders across all stages of their career.In addition to education, faith and philanthropy are close to my heart. I’m proud to be involved in the Boys and Girls Club (where I’ve helped raise over $70k over the last 10 years), as well as IntersectionsCharlotte (where I help fellow Christian professionals achieve success without checking their faith at the door). From my work, to my family, to my community, everything revolves around depositing more than I withdraw. It’s always been a personal philosophy, and I love being able to pay that forward to others every day.
