ABOUT JOHN OREILLY FRAI

Creativity grows from the pleasures of learning, and I’ve been lucky to learn from enlightened clients and collaborators – editors, creative directors, entrepreneurs, students, philosophers and photographers, illustrators and designers, scientists and artists, and account managers who manage projects like artists. I work and manage the space between business and culture, science and communication, a space you could call ‘curiosity’ (thank you Michael W.). When we’re curious, we want to stand outside the echo-chamber. Whether you’re a business-person or scientist, image-maker or brand maker, the most powerful tool for engaging with our world is the instrument of curiosity. Curiosity is a virtuous circle, driving discovery and discoveries spark curiosity in others, whether it’s a technological, artistic, or service innovation. Dunno who killed the cat, but I’ll lay good odds it wasn’t curiosity. Clients include The AOI, Basurama, Blackberry, British Council, China Design Centre, Converse, Colors, Computer Arts, Eyestorm, Eye, Etapes, The Guardian, Getty Images, Image Source, The Independent, Lloyds, Nike, Nationwide, The Observer, Queen’s Anniversary Prize, Sony Playstation, UK Hydrographic Office, V&A magazine, Virgin Atlantic, The Westbury, Wired, Young Creatives Network. Long copy, short copy, in-store retail, product copy, straplines, press-releases, leave-behinds, editorial direction, think-pieces, ghostwriting, tone-of-voice, naming and branding. Co-founder in 2012 of Swerve with Dr. Jamie Brassett, Futures, semiotics and trends consultancy.
