ABOUT JIMMIE COLLIER-BULLARD

Dr. Jimmie Bullard is a passionate educator and a lover of children. She enjoys working in the urban core of Kansas City. Her goal is to make a difference in the lives of children socially, academically, and emotionally, wherever they may be. She also believes that culturally relevant pedagogy (CRP) increases successful academic and social outcomes for students of color. She has engaged in several years of research that confirms her beliefs. As a matter of fact her dissertation examined the influence of CRP through African-centered methods in a school that successfully implemented an African centered curriculum. She has worked as a successful elementary classroom teacher for 12 years, a school administrator for four years, and an instructional coach for two years. She recently taught a University course to undergraduate and graduate student, on CRP methods to a diverse student population. She has strong leadership skills and a highly-effective track-record in instructional leadership, developing teacher leaders and staff development. She does an excellent job at fostering positive staff, students and community relationships. She also possesses the ability to manage and analyze data to inform instructional practices and utilize data analysis to develop and implement academic policy to improve and maximize academic student outcomes.
