ABOUT JESSICA WRIGHT

I’m a nonprofit executive with 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in strategy, fundraising, communications, evaluation, and cross-sector collaboration. I’m passionate about stewarding resources well, building strong systems, and strengthening organizations so they can deliver meaningful and measurable impact for communities and especially for people who are struggling or in need.I currently serve as Chief Strategy & Advancement Officer at City Relief, where I partner closely with executive leadership and the Board to guide organizational strategy, strengthen fundraising performance, and improve brand awareness. Over the course of my tenure, I have repeatedly been trusted to step into complex situations—leading fundraising turnarounds, developing foundation and grant strategies, strengthening donor engagement, and building data-informed systems that improve decision-making and outcomes. My background spans nonprofit leadership and fundraising, communications, grant writing and management, people and team leadership, evaluation and impact measurement, and systems implementation. Earlier in my career, I led project planning and delivery in the private sector and later served vulnerable populations through care coordination and advocacy work. I earned my Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Rutgers University in 2014, and I bring a research-informed, outcome-driven mindset to leadership.I’m energized by work that strengthens communities through collaboration—across nonprofits, funders, public agencies, and local leaders—and I’m motivated by neighborhood-level impact and long-term community well-being.
