ABOUT JANE MISCHENKO
My career began in the NHS as a nurse and then health visitor, valuable and rewarding years. I’ve held roles in research, professional development strategic commissioning and latterly partnership working. My passion was to improve the experience, health and outcomes of children and families in the city, with a particular focus on those with greater inequalities. Now retired, I remain passionate about addressing inequalities in health and social care and in ensuring people have a voice and impact on the care and services they receive. We need to narrow the gap in access, experience and outcomes. I now direct my energy into my role as co-chair of the Leeds Healthwatch board; a company with fantastic values, an amazing team and an incredible impact in the city.
