ABOUT JAMIE D. SMITH
Dr. Jamie D. Smith began her career as a public librarian in 2001. After years of dedicated community service in the public libraries, Jamie transitioned into academic librarianship. In 2014, Jamie began her journey to receive her Doctorate of Education in Executive Leadership at the prestigious St. John Fisher University, Ralph C. Wilson School of Education. Dr. Smith successfully defended her dissertation, which focused of information literacy in higher education, in January of 2017. She continued her career in higher education as Dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Erie Community College and then Associate Dean of Academics. In May of 2021, Dr. Smith joined Roswell Park Cancer Center as their Chief Academic Officer, SVP of Education, and the Dean of the Roswell Park Graduate Division of the University at Buffalo. In this role, Jamie oversees the creation, assessment and implementation of K-12 educational programming, a masters and doctoral program, clinical and research post-doctoral programs, continuing medical education and a few other areas. Dr. Smith is focused on establishing partnerships that address learning across the education continuum. Dr. Jamie D. Smith is dedicated to equality and excellence in education.
