About J. Kim Vick
Dr. J is an internationally renowned researcher and educator in the consumer behavior and fashion marketing field. She taught at three different US institutions before joining Kent State in 2013. She was recognized as one of the top globally published scholars in an article published in Clothing and Textiles Research Journal, a premier journal in the field of fashion/clothing and textiles in 2016. She was also selected as an inaugural recipient of the Distinguished Achievement in Research/Creative Scholarship Award from the College of the Arts at Kent State in September 2016. More recently, she received a 2018 ITAA Mid-Career Award from the International Textile and Apparel Association for her excellence in research and scholarly achievement. In 2022, she was chosen as one of three winners of the 2021 KSU Outstanding Research and Scholarship Award. In April 2024, she was named a 2024-25 KSU President\'s Faculty Excellence Award recipient.Her first textbook was published in January 2025. The textbook, Ominichalle Retailing for Fashion Business, is published by Fairchild Books, an imprint of Bloomsbury. This textbook is co-authored with Dr. C. Jai at Texas Tech.Starting in July 2019, she provided leadership for the Fashion Industry Studies program as Graduate Studies Coordinator at Kent State\'s Master of Fashion Industry Studies degree, offered by the Fashion School and approved by the Higher Learning Commission. She develops strategic plans for the growth of the program at the School and University levels. Dr. J also served as a Faculty Senator at Virginia Tech as well as Kent State. She served on the AAUP-TT Council for Kent State\'s Chapter as a Representative of the School of Fashion.
