I am a clinical psychologist working in acute neuropsychology at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne. My role focuses on cognitive assessment and formulation for people with confirmed or suspected neurological conditions in an outpatient setting, as well as providing neuropsychological support on our inpatient neurosurgical and neurology wards. I am also a member of the epilepsy surgery Multi-disciplinary Team. I provide thesis supervision for trainee clinical psychologists and epilepsy teaching on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Newcastle University. I am also an associate clinical researcher; my research interests include psychological aspects of Functional Neurological Disorders, Parkinson’s disease, Motor Neurone Disease, and epilepsy. My PhD was on emotion regulation in people with Functional Neurological Disorders. I am currently involved with the SCN1A Horizons study, carrying out cognitive assessment for adults with SCN1A epilepsies.
