ABOUT HIRAL PANDYA

Doctoral research aimed at creating a fermentative scheme for continuous fermentative production of organic acids as well as bio-butanol using Clostridium spp. This work was funded by DBT of India, India and was performed under the guidance of Prof. A.M. Lali, Head, DBT ICT CEB, Institute of Chemical Technology, Matunga, Mumbai. Work aimed at isolation of strain with enhanced γ-poly glutamic acid production ability as well as at optimization and validation of methods for detection and quantification of exopolymers. This work was funded by DST of India, India and was performed under the guidance of Dr. Nandita Baxi, Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology center, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodra. Technical competencies include - Bioreactor and anaerobic workstation operations Aseptic anaerobic microbiology techniques Continuous cell recycle fermentation technique Membrane filtration: Microfiltration and Ultrafiltration Analytical instruments(method development and validation): HPLC (equipped with UV, RI detectors), GC-FID, Ion chromatography, UV-Visible spectrophotometer, Kjeldahl analyser, CHNS analyser, ICP Design of Experiment (Plackett Burman and RSM) Enzymatic assay for biomolecules quantification Molecular biology techniques like primer designing, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and proteomics techniques like 2D gel electrophoresis
