ABOUT HAYLEY LUGASSY

I’m Dr Hayley Lugassy, a Senior Educational Psychologist at Keys Group, speaker, and founder of Lugassy Learning Solutions (LLS): I describe myself as a Dual Perspective Specialist, someone who brings both lived experience and professional expertise. Through Lugassy Learning Solutions, I deliver- Public speaking that combines lived experience with professional insight- Workshops and training for educators, leaders, and families- Online courses and resources focused on trauma, childhood adversity, and resilienceLong before the doctorate, I was a teenage mum, a survivor, and a child navigating unimaginable hardship.My story includes growing up without a father, moving abroad and being ripped away from everything I knew, living with an alcoholic mother, surviving sexual assault at 13, and being locked away in an abusive relationship at 14. I became pregnant at 14, was isolated from the world, lived in poverty, and took dangerous risks just to survive. I eventually escaped and rebuilt my life from the ground up. Every step I’ve taken since has been fuelled by a deep commitment to healing, growth, and making a difference.I’m also bilingual (English & Spanish), with personal experience of cultural displacement and integration, something that strengthens my ability to connect with diverse young people and families.I believe people can change.
