ABOUT HARGUNPREET SINGH

I am working as an Assistant Professor (HOD) in the department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Mata Gujri College, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib.I did my PhD, MPhil & MJMC (First Class First Gold Medalist) with UGC NET qualification. I have got more than 10 years of teaching & mentoring experience, with an area of expertise in print specialization, media research and development communication.I had previously worked as an Assistant Professor in the School of Mass Communication at Chitkara University, Punjab for more than two sessions (20••••20), in the department of Journalism & Mass Communication at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib for 1 session (20••••17) and in the department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Mata Gujri College, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib for 2 sessions (20••••16).I was honored with the \"Teaching Excellence Award-2019\" in the \"Most Committed\" category by Chitkara University in 2019.I got my internship training in \"The Tribune\" newspaper in 2011 and also worked as a Social Media Manager in Punjabi Sahit Sabha (Regd.) Patiala from (20••••17).I have written more than 500 articles, features and other write-ups in the special issues of eminent newspapers and authored a book named \'Museebtaan Ton Na Ghabrao’ in 2008.I worked as a student editor of ‘Campus Times’, lab journal of the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, Punjabi University, Patiala in 2011 and 2013.I worked as a student editor of \'The Luminary’, an annual magazine of Multani Mal Modi College in 2008, and the College Wall Magazine for 3 years (2007, 2008 & 2009).I worked as a student editor of the ‘Hassdey Phull’, an annual magazine of the Govt. Model Sen. Sec. School Pheel Khana, Patiala in 2006 and 2007.I won First prize in the State Level \"Slogan Writing Contest\" organized by Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana in 2017.I bagged the State Level ‘Swami Vivekananda Youth Award-2013’ (Gold Medal) in 2013.I won the National level prize in ‘All India Essay Writing Competition’ organized by the United Schools Organization of India in 2006.I was honored with the ‘Best Student Award’ for 3 times consecutively at the school, college & university level by District Administration Patiala in 2006, 2008 & 2013.I stood first in the State Level Essay Writing Competition on the life & message of Shaheed Bhagat Singh organized by Shaheed Bhagat Singh Vichar Manch Ludhiana in 2009.
