ABOUT HANNAH LOCK
I am an NHS Emergency Medicine Doctor, an Expedition Doctor and medical educator based in North Wales, UK. Along side my NHS work, I provide medical support for teams on trekking and mountaineering expeditions and have a specialist interest in high altitude mountainous areas. I also have experience providing medical support for road cycling and trail ultramarathon events. I hold the UIAA Diploma in Mountain Medicine and I\'ve been a qualified UK Mountain Leader since 2014. I created an online learning platform called The Mountain Doctor, making evidence based information accessible to everyone who wants to learn mountain medicine. The online courses are packed with science and practical information but no prior medical or science background is required. Find out more here: https://themountaindoctor.teachable.com I\'m a freelance teacher of mountain medicine and have worked for the University of Central Lancashire, teaching on their Diploma in Mountain Medicine as well as for World Extreme Medicine (WEM). I provide bespoke mountain medicine lectures and workshops on request and have experience doing this for various groups including adventure & expedition companies and the Ministry of Defence. When I\'m not working, you can usually find me out in the mountains with my husband, Tom and our dog, Dylan, climbing, walking, mountaineering, running, swimming, skiing or cycling, locally in Eryri/Snowdonia National Park or further afield.
