The Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST was founded in 1990 and is your contact point for all matters concerning thin film technology. The Fraunhofer IST comprises the management and marketing departments, five business units and six technical departments. As an innovative R&D partner the Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST offers complete solutions in surface engineering which are developed in cooperation with customers from industry and research. For an efficient technology transfer the IST offers a broad range of services, from development of prototypes and economical product scenarios to upscaling and even implementation of the technology at the customer. Business development promotes innovations developed by Fraunhofer IST by enhancing multinational cooperation and exploring new application opportunities within all our five business units. 30 years’ experience in the acquisition, planning, writing and management of national and international research, development and technology driven industrial applied projects with different leadership levels. A multitude of consultancy and work experiences in collaboration with national and international SMEs, Industries, Universities, Associations and Funding bodies. The implementation of public, socio-economic and industrial policies was directly related to these liabilities. My experience includes preparation of business plans, financial outlooks, financing and operating structures and close interaction with share- and stakeholders and private investors and banks. Participation as project partner or project coordinator in many European technology driven projects with partners from several European countries.
