ABOUT FORAM CHANDARANA

I’ve always been shaped by deep curiosity. Literature, art, and music raised me as much as the adults in my life did - they taught me to observe closely, think deeply, and approach the world with empathy and imagination.That curiosity has guided every major choice I’ve made. When early dreams didn’t work out, I learned to pivot, adapt, and explore new paths. At 16, I began studying English Literature at university, spending more time in libraries and lectures than anywhere else. That love of learning became the foundation of my career.Over the past 11+ years, I’ve taught and supported students across two continents, six cities, and a wide range of institutions - from flexible liberal arts colleges to highly structured universities, to remote rural campuses with limited infrastructure. These environments taught me how to adjust quickly, meet students where they are, design adaptable curriculum, and stay grounded in purpose even when the context changes completely.I’ve embraced every opportunity to stretch my skills: teaching everything from Literature, Theory, Race & Gender Studies, and Translation, to Communications, Business Writing, EAP/ESL, Game Studies, and Popular Culture. This breadth isn’t accidental - it reflects my comfort with ambiguity, my willingness to learn fast, and my belief that education should be responsive, not rigid.On the side, I tutor IB and BC curriculum learners based in China and Canada, and use Orton-Gillingham practices to assist with learning differences.I’ve also built strong administrative experience - serving as an Exam and Admissions Coordinator, leading committees on institutional accreditation and internal quality standards, organizing film and extracurricular clubs, mentoring students, and liaising with government agencies as a Training & Placement Coordinator.Today, I’m driven by curiosity, adaptability, and the desire to help people grow - whether through teaching, curriculum design, academic advising, or student support. I’m always open to roles that value flexibility, creativity, and human-centred work. I still have big dreams: earning my skydiving license, PADI certifications, a DUKE 390, and building a side path in game design. If our interests align, let’s connect.
