About Elida Dakoli

A pianist with a voice shaped by history.Albanian American concert pianist, author, educator, and human rights advocate whose work explores how memory, culture, and discipline sustain freedom.She has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Brahms Saal in Vienna, Merkin Concert Hall, and leading stages across four continents. A Mason and Hamlin Concert Artist and recording artist for PianoDisc, her work has been featured by BBC, Voice of America, and Euronews.Dr. Dakoli is the Founder and CEO of the DFW Institute of Musical Advancement, a premier music and leadership institute serving more than 500 students across 15 schools in the Dallas Fort Worth area, producing over 70 performances annually.She serves on the Board of Trustees of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation and has testified before the Texas Legislature in support of a Day of Remembrance for Victims of Communism. In 2023, she was named Ambassador of the City of Durres, Albania.Her forthcoming memoir, Beneath the Silence, examines three generations of family life under communist rule and the lasting impact of systems that shape what can and cannot be spoken.
