ABOUT EDITH MONICA ESIEVO

I am a One Health systems thinker, veterinary clinician, and interdisciplinary researcher passionate about translating research into sustainable, real-world impact across human, animal, plant, and environmental health.I have led clinical and public health initiatives in Nigeria and contribute to global, regional, and United Kingdom-focused research on sustainable diets, climate change, and health systems strengthening. My work has informed dialogue at international forums, where I have participated in speaking engagements and roundtable discussions, including the Lancet Countdown on Climate Change and Health, the Global Climate and Health Summit, and the International Congress of Nutrition. At the Queen Mother Hospital for Small Animals, Royal Veterinary College, United Kingdom, I support the delivery of high-quality veterinary care through timely diagnosis, advanced surgical intervention, and peri-operative management, ensuring optimal outcomes for our patients. I tutor High school students and support in teaching on the Master\'s One Health course. At the Federal University of Agriculture, Zuru, Kebbi State, Nigeria, alongside teaching and research, I am developing enabling platforms to train and mentor the next generation of veterinary and global health leaders, with keen focus on applied skills, systems thinking, and policy relevance.I thrive at the intersection of research, policy, and implementation, translating evidence into action that strengthens health systems and delivers lasting global impact.
