About Don Osborne
I thought about what my greatest strengths are and how I can be most useful at this stage of life.* I earned a doctorate in Organizational Leadership and have held executive positions over the years; I have provided consulting to a variety of large and small businesses on leadership.* I have a great deal of experience helping people understand and overcome addiction.* I have taught in and managed higher education departments.* I have designed and delivered corporate training solutions.* I have been a therapist and program manager supervising other addiction therapists.* With other dedicated people, I built and operated a private treatment hospital.* Researching and drawing from professional and recovery experience, I developed the first Addictions Counseling curriculum for a university in the USA, where I taught and chaired the new department.* I managed an Employee Assistance Program for a large corporation.* I spent six days per week for ten years in a jail providing an addictions treatment program for incarcerated felons.* My second book is titled: You Can’t Fall Out of a Hole: Ripping the Band Aid Off Our Addiction Epidemic. It describes the reasons that addiction treatment is largely failing alcoholics, drug addicts and their families. Littered with the real stories of people who found recovery and those who didn’t, answers are provided for people seeking help for themselves or someone they care about. Because much of current addiction treatment is so ineffective, I help individuals, families and employers find real help for addicted people and their loved ones.* Currently, I am teaching and designing online college courses in Addiction Counseling for Christian universities.
