About Divya Kumar
Dr. Divya Kumar is a PhD awardee in Organizational Behaviour from the University of Madras, a top-ranked institution known for its academic and research excellence. She completed her doctoral research under the guidance of Dr. P. T. Srinivasan (Prof. & Head, Retd.) and was a recipient of the prestigious Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) from the University Grants Commission (UGC), serving as a full-time research fellow at the Department of Management Studies. Dr. Divya graduated in Commerce from Stella Maris College and went on to complete her Master’s in Management, specializing in Human Resource Management and Marketing. A passionate educator and social science researcher, she delivered lectures for UGC-NET coaching sessions at the University of Madras during her research fellowship (2012–2015). Her scholarly work focuses extensively on psychological ownership in the workplace. She has authored several research papers, including a publication in the Journal of Management and Sciences (2012), and has presented her work at numerous national and international conferences. Notably, she presented at the Twelfth AIMS International Conference on Managing Challenges in an Uncertain Environment at IIM Kozhikode (2015) and at the 26th National Academy of Psychology (NAOP) conference at IIT Madras (2016). In 2019, the Registrar of Copyrights, Government of India, certified copyrights for her doctoral thesis titled “Psychological Ownership and Its Relationship with Interpersonal Trust and Individual Work Outcomes.” Dr. Divya began her journey with Avtar, Asia’s premier workplace culture and inclusion solutions firm, in 2016. She has since played a significant role as a research associate in Avtar & Seramount’s flagship gender analytics studies — Best Companies for Women in India (BCWI) since its launch in 2016 and Best Companies for Women in the Gulf (BCWG) launched in 2024. She is also a contributor to Avtar’s widely referenced annual research reports, Viewport 2018 and Viewport 2019, which are extensively used by leaders and decision-makers across industries to shape strategies for enhancing women’s workforce participation. Dr. Divya has authored numerous newsletters and blog articles on workplace culture, inclusion, and career enablement, continuing to contribute meaningfully to research, practice, and thought leadership in the field of organizational behaviour and workplace culture & inclusion.
