About Deepa Bhajekar
From the Directors desk in 2022 I am an entrepreneur and like creating businesses in new areas. MICROCHEM : - 2015 My first business a food testing laboratory started in the year from a single table and a chair and one employee (me) with a bare Rs in my bank and in 15 years grew to 250 people conducting over 200 tests in quality of food and several other departments related to food inspection and testing. This growth was due to a JV with the largest food and water testing lab globally \'Silliker\' of Merieux Nutrisciences group, France which exposed me to 75 countries across the world. It was an evolving experience giving me exposure of how a global company operates and thinks business. D TECHNOLOGY 20••••22 and going strong Being the youngest Ph.D (at the time of getting my Doctorate in 1992) I wanted to delve into developing cutting edge solutions for problems in quality in Food. This gave birth to \'d technology\'- a group of doctorates committed to scientific excellence. We embarked on an unusual journey of finding viable and scalable solutions to global problems in food quality. I invested in 7 technologies of which 5 are being commercialised this year. Seeing our innovations convert to multiple manufacturing units is a pleasure. We are at a fantastic juncture to see the fruits of our innovation roll out into industry. HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL - 2021 With D Technology happened a fabulous years course at Harvard Business school teaching business, strategy, finance and leadership. Brilliant learning and fantastic perspectives giving renewed zest to surge ahead. As I industrialise these techs a new passion is born to create several entrepreneurs like myself.
