Dr. Brown serves as the Department of Defense (DoD) Market Manager for the DHAR (Defense Health Agency Regions-Europe & Indo-Pacific), the OCONUS (Outside Contiguous United States) markets, and as the Behavioral Health Consultant to the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. He is a member of the Behavioral Health Clinical Management Team (BHCMT), Medical Affairs/Clinical Support Division, Defense Health Agency. This position is located in the Defense Health Agency (DHA) under the policy guidance and direction of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (ASD (HA)). The DHA is responsible for the effective execution and operation of the Department of Defense (DoD) worldwide medical mission, which is to provide medical services and support to specified categories of individuals entitled to DoD medical care, providing support to the Uniformed Services in the management and administration of TRICARE, administering and managing the Defense Health Program budget and the management direction and control of the military medical treatment facilities.The mission of the DHA is to serve as a Combat Support Agency and lead the MHS integration of readiness and health to deliver the Quadruple Aim: improved readiness, better health, better care, and lower cost. Scope of responsibility is Behavioral Health Budget and Financial Management, Management and Leadership, Public Relations, and Systemic Internal Review. Also functions as the Behavioral Health Consultant for U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. Maintains a DoD Secret clearance

ABOUT DAVID G. BROWN
Dr. Brown serves as the Department of Defense (DoD) Market Manager for the DHAR (Defense Health Agency Regions-Europe & Indo-Pacific), the OCONUS (Outside Contiguous United States) markets, and as the Behavioral Health Consultant to the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. He previously served as the U.S. Army\'s Director of Psychological Health for the Indo-Asia Pacific region and as the Behavioral Health Consultant to the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command encompassing about half the earth\'s surface, from the west coast of the U.S. to India, and from Antarctica to the North Pole. Dr. Brown came to the Pacific from the Office of the Secretary of Defense where he was the lead Clinical Psychologist and subject matter expert for suicide prevention. He has consulted with all sixteen elements of the Intelligence Community on redeployment and reintegration needs in addition to supplementing the speeches of the President, the First Lady, Secretaries, Senators, Congressmen, Flag, and General Officers when speaking on psychological health. He has appeared on C-SPAN (Defense Forum Washington and Warrior Family Symposium) and ABC News for his work with wounded Veterans, and was a frequent guest on Armed Forces Networks television and radio programs in Australia, China, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, Nepal, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam. He has also been a guest lecturer at Kodiara Military Intelligence School (Japan), National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, the National Academies of Sciences and a host of international venues.Dr. Brown is a recipient of the Office of Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Civilian Service, the highest level career medaled award, and is a member of the Order of Military Medical Merit. Dr. Brown is a graduate of the JFK Special Warfare Center, Command and General Staff College, Air Assault, and the Special Operations Medical Sustainment Course. From 1995 to 1997, he deployed with the 1st Armored Division Implementation Force (IFOR) to lead soldiers in the former Yugoslavia and to work with survivors affected by mine strikes, shootings, mass graves, rape, ethnic cleansing, and genocide. He has taught undergraduate and doctoral level courses in psychology and sociology at universities in Europe, Hawaii, Japan, and Washington D.C.
