ABOUT DAVID COOKSON
David has worked in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) since 2008, with experience in both the UK and New Zealand. He currently serves across the East Midlands, West Midlands, and Yorkshire in multiple roles, including BASICS Doctor, MERIT Consultant, HEMS Consultant, and Strategic Medical Advisor. David also enjoys remote and rural medicine and works part time as a Rural Emergency Physician for NHS Highland in the beautiful town of Oban in Scotland.His clinical interests include point-of-care ultrasound and medical education. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), lectures at the University of Lincoln, and teaches on a range of courses, including as a faculty member for the ATACC course. David holds the Fellowship in Immediate Medical Care (FIMC) by examination and is Faculty Accredited as a Consultant in PHEM by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.Outside of medicine, David enjoys spending time with his young family, including three children and their dog, Rosie. His personal interests include sailing, hiking, and music.
