I lead WHO-NPSN Imphal unit, Manipur providing leadership and technical support to the State and it’s 16 districts on strengthening Routine Immunization, Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Surveillance and response to health emergencies through capacity building, supportive supervision, monitoring and evaluation. Some of my key achievements are: Measles-Rubella Elimination: 1. Non-Measles Non-Rubella (NMNR) discard rate improved from 0.07 in 2020 to 4.1 in 2024.2. Introduction of Fever-rash surveillance system from case-based Measles-Rubella surveillance in the entire state 2021. Builds capacities of health staffs to sustain sensitive FR surveillance. Strengthening Routine Immunization: 1. Full Immunization Coverage (FIC) increased from 80% in 2020-21 to 93% in 2023-24 and MR2 coverage from 64% to 77%. Implemented introduction of PCV in 2021 and 3rd dose fIPV in 2023 under NIS. Successful implementation of supplementary immunization activities such as IMI 4.0, IMI 5.0 and yearly NIDs. Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Surveillance: 1. Implemented Diphtheria, Pertussis and Neonatal Tetanus surveillance in the state.COVID-19 response and vaccination: 1. Technical guidance to COVID-19 response (detect, trace, isolate and treat protocol)2. Prepared, built capacity and implemented COVID-19 vaccination programme in the state. Installed 18 Auxiliary Health Facilities (AHF) that can be used in any health emergencies.
