I have a Green Hydrogen submission in the UK Universities COP26 Network’s Innovation Showcase.Research Background:Due to the continued environmental pressures to reduce CO2 emission, an exploitation of electricity generation from renewable energy sources (RES), such as wind, solar, tidal etc, world wide is now on. It has been recently reported by the International Energy Agency that 46% of global electricity would be from renewable by 2050. The intermittent nature of RES like wind power, which is currently top of RES in the UK and Scotland, could lead to several problems when connected to the grid. This includes the reliability and quality of the supply as well as stability of the network. Using RENEWABLE Green Hydrogen Energy Storage systems to store the electricity generated by renewables at times of high production and then convert it back to electricity when its production is low, is a solution. Research is to improve the reliability and quality of power-supply and optimize the performance of the grid with embedded renewable Distributed Generation through the use of renewable hydrogen energy storage systems.
