Dr.D.Vijendra Babu have 25 Years of Experience in the field of Education, Research & Administration at various levels. He is currently designated as Associate Professor Grade 1, Department of Embedded Technology, School of Electronics Engineering at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, India. He is a Reviewer of various referred International Journals/Conferences. He has successfully conducted the 2 Weeks AICTE Training & Learning Academy (ATAL)FDP on Wearable Technology for Healthcare during September 2022.He is a Doctoral Committee Member of Anna University, VIT, Vellore & VMRF-DU, Salem. He has published 93 Articles in SCIE/Scopus/WoS Journals. He is a Reviewer in various Journals/Conferences. He has obtained Grant for 3 Patents, 1 Copyright & Published 5 Patents. He has published 3 Book Chapters and authored 8 Books. His area of interest includes Internet of Things, Wireless Sensor Networks, Wearable Computing and Machine Vision. He has acted as Chair in 24 International/National Conferences & delivered 72 Invited Lectures. He is a Recipient of several Awards from various Organizations such as Recipient of Emerging ISF Award (2024),Lifetime Achievement Award (2021), Academic Leadership Award (2021),Best Paper Award in International Conference (2013), Outstanding Contribution to Teaching Award (2012) & Active ISF Award (2011 & 2012).Apart from Academics, he is an active involvement in Professional Societies as a Senior Member in Fellow in IETE, Life Member in BES (I) & ISTE. He has contributed significantly in achieving IETE Best Centre Award (2nd Position) for IETE Chennai Centre in 66th Annual IETE Convention (AIC) held on 16-17, September 2023 @ Pune. He is currently the Vice Chair, Robotics & Automation Society (25-26), Secretary, Vehicular & Technology Society, Madras Section (18-25) & Executive Committee Member, IETE Chennai Centre (24- 26). Also, he served as Honorary Secretary (22- 24), Executive Committee Member (20-22), Honorary Treasurer (12- 14) & Executive Committee Member (10-12), IETE Chennai Centre. He has strong connect with Industry Professionals in enabling the Industry Connect for bridging the gap between Industry & Institute.
