The Computacenter strategy is to enable users and their business. I am a firm believer that technology only exists to serve the end user outcome so continue to drive forward to ensure we innovate, differentiate but equally are steered by our customer’s unique agenda. My role as Chief Technologist for networking, security and collaboration evolves my previous practice leader role. It is underpinned by an in-depth understanding of the IT landscape, new market & customer business drivers expected to transform enterprise organisations and the technology strategies of existing and emerging vendors. Working with the business line director, I am tasked with amassing an extremely deep level of customer understanding to allow us to develop differentiated propositions and solutions that deliver measurable value to Computacenter customers.Much of my role is spent listening to real world challenges, analysing the market, digesting the business aims and desires of our customers both now and next and using that insight to create actionable strategies and solutions. This will ensure Computacenter solutions leverage the most optimum vendor technology portfolio to allow our customers to right size their IT investments and realise measurable business outcomes.In additional to my daily strategic and solutions aligned activities I have a passion for continued professional development of myself and others so work closely with the Computacenter solutions unit personnel development team to act as a mentor for our newly recruited graduates and high performance team members.With 25 plus years in IT leadership roles working within organisations like Compaq, BT, Morse and Hewlett Packard, Colin has created a reputation as an innovative technology strategist and utilises a unique perspective on the market, vendors and strategy to deliver thought provoking blogs, strategic consulting and market insight.
