PROFESSIONAL ACADEMICIAN EMPLOYMENT• Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice—Southern University and A&M Agricultural College, Baton Rouge Campus-Graduate StatusStart Date to Present: Fall 2022 to PresentOverall Responsibilities include teaching, research and faculty service— (i.e, advising, mentoring, serving on various department, college, and/or university committees, maintain membership and participation with professional educational organizations associated with teaching discipline; use professional knowledge and skills to contribute to local and professional community activities whenever appropriate).Specific Teaching Responsibilities: Duties will include teaching in-person and on-line courses to undergraduate and graduate students, advising, research and supervising Thesis and/or dissertations. Considered and expertise in criminal justice; juvenile justice; criminology; delinquency; corrections-penology; community corrections-probation and parole, and court structures, criminal justice research methods—practical approach with statistical application. The responsibility generally falls into three basic areas: Approximately 45 percent Faculty Responsibility: Teaching responsibilities include a 3/3 instruction-load with a mix of face-to-face, online and hybrid formats; Approximately 30 percent Research: Contribute research and scholarly activity within the discipline in the form of professional presentations and publications. Approximately 25 percent Service: Maintain appropriate schedule of office hours for student access and inquiry’ advising, mentoring, supporting students through the completion of the program. Participate in institutional service on the College, Department and University levels, such as serving on committees, engagement in school governance, collaboration with community partners, and building relationships with local criminal justice agencies.
