ABOUT CHRISTOPH HEIN
Dr. Christoph Hein, born 13••••60, studied economics, social sciences and German language at University of Muenster where he afterwards did his doctorate (PhD) in 1991. Christoph started his career in the department of public affairs with BASF, Ludwigshafen. 1993 he moved to Berlin to work as an editor for the business section of German daily Die Welt. In 1996 he founded the correspondent-office for Die Welt in Stuttgart, South-West Germany. In 1998 he took over as business correspondent with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in Stuttgart. In Christoph moved to Singapore to open the first South-East-Asian bureau for F.A.Z. to report on business and economics in the region. One year later he became F.A.Z.’s business and economics correspondent for whole Asia (ex-Japan, Korea, Taiwan). Today he writes about South Asia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific Region. Christoph is a wellkown Speaker at conferences and author of several books, e.g. “Der Daimler-Chrysler Deal”, translated in Chinese and Japanese and recently Burma/Myanmar. Die Zukunft hat begonnen (with Udo Schmidt). Invited to the Australian-Euopean Leadership Forum in 2018 and 2019. Latest publication: Australia 1872 in English and German: Australien 1872. Erfahrener Korrespondent mit Vergangenheit in der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit eines Weltkonzerns, seit mehr als einer Dekade vertraut mit der indo-pazifischen und der deutschen Wirtschaft. Autor mehrerer Bücher (Der Daimler-Chrysler Deal; Wasserträger und Magnaten, Australien 1872 etc), gefragter Moderator, Berater und Referent bei Wirtschaftsthemen rund um Asien (z.B. KPMG, Kienbaum, Commerzbank, TÜV Süd, Gisecke & Devrient, Asien-Pazifik Konferenz der deutschen Wirtschaft etc.). Gerade erschienen: Australien 1872 (Deutsche und englische Ausgabe).
