With 38+ years in safety and occupational health, I’ve led some of the most complex, high-stakes safety missions in the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and across the Department of Defense. As the former Chief of Safety for one of USACE’s largest districts, I built and sustained robust safety management systems that delivered results — including earning the prestigious Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) Star Award for a major U.S. Army installation.My career includes leadership roles at Fort Knox, one of the largest Army installations in the world, and operational deployments as a U.S. Air Force veteran during the 1991 Gulf War in Saudi Arabia. I am honored to be well-decorated for excellence in safety program management, with three Army Commendation Medals and two Army Achievement Medals recognizing my impact.Holding two master’s degrees, a Doctor of Business Administration, and now completing my second doctorate in Safety and Occupational Health, I blend deep technical knowledge with executive-level leadership skills. I have managed multi-million-dollar resources, led high-performing teams, and been recognized as a national expert in safety.Beyond my operational leadership, I am deeply engaged in advancing the profession. I’ve served in several leadership positions within the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and currently sit on the Editorial Review Board for the Professional Safety Journal (PSJ) — the industry’s flagship publication. I’m also a sought-after lecturer, speaker, and instructor, well known for my unique approach to safety training:\"If they’re laughing, they’re learning.\"Today, as President of CorpsPro Safety, LLC, I help contractors navigate and master the complex world of USACE and federal safety compliance, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and injury-free.
