Chris is an industry professional who combines broad pre-clinical and clinical knowledge gained through varied R&D leadership positions held over the last 20 years across the Chemical, Consumer Healthcare and Pharmaceutical industries. Chris also serves on the Roche UK Site Leadership Team. Chris is a clinical development scientist with a current focus on infectious diseases (antibacterials/antivirals/COVID-19). Chris is currently leading global drug filings for COVID-19 and Influenza assets. As an experienced drug developer, Chris has also led early and late phase clinical studies across respiratory, immuno-inflammation and rare diseases. Chris is known for being a strong collaborator with a passionate drive to deliver innovative molecules through the pipeline; manage cross-industry partnerships; all with a detailed focus on the commercial necessity behind drug development and prioritizing the patient voice! Previous to Pharma, Chris led teams in a variety of global and regional roles within GSK Consumer Healthcare, including the launch of numerous OTC product innovations with a focus on respiratory health. Chris has held R&D positions with several other companies including Dow Chemical, Reckitt Benckiser and Givaudan. Chris studied in the UK and graduated from the University of Surrey and School of Pharmacy, Brighton, holding a degree in Medical Microbiology and PhD in Pharmaceutical Microbiology.
