About Chethan Sathya
Dr. Chethan Sathya is a pediatric surgeon, physician executive, and public health leader working at the intersection of healthcare delivery, technology, and policy. He serves as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Northwell Health, New York’s largest health system, and holds a senior physician executive role at a tech-enabled specialty care access company. Dr Sathya is an implementation scientist leading real-world deployment of tech-enabled specialty care models across large health systems, rural hospitals, and underserved communities. He leads system-level public health innovation, technology-enabled care delivery, and national coalitions focused on improving outcomes, strengthening public health infrastructure, and rebuilding trust between health systems and communities. He directs Northwell’s Center for Gun Violence Prevention, overseeing one of the nation’s most comprehensive health-system–based firearm injury prevention programs and leading national collaboratives engaging more than 600 hospitals and health systems.Dr. Sathya works closely with federal and state partners including the White House, NIH, CDC, and New York State leadership. An NIH-funded investigator and reviewer, he publishes on implementation science, pediatrics, and public health.He is also a trained journalist and national speaker, with writing in CNN, The Washington Post, TIME, and Scientific American, and keynote appearances at the World Economic Forum, Clinton Global Initiative, and Milken Global Conference. Clinically, he serves as Trauma Director at Cohen Children’s Medical Center and Associate Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at the Zucker School of Medicine.
