ABOUT CHENIKKAYALA BALACHANDRA
Currently working on Discovery chemistry (CRO) and API process R&D at DRILS. Interests: My research experience and interest revolve around developing biologically active molecular systems, with a particular interest in developing small molecule drug candidates and peptidomimetics to mitigate various disease conditions. Expertise • Rational design of small molecule and peptide based therapeutics by employing advanced drug discovery aspects for targeting multifactorial toxicity of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and their cost-effectiIve multistep synthetic approach. • Rational design of structurally diverse unnatural amino acids, fluorescent unnatural amino acids (FAAs) and exploiting their use as building blocks in construction of bioactive peptidomimetics. • Study of secondary structure of peptidomimetics by using various techniques (2D NMR, NMR titration experiments and IR spectroscopy). • The rational design of Aggregation Induced Emission (AIE) fluorescent systems for biomedical and sensing applications. • Hands-on experience in studying organic reaction mechanisms using control experiments and deuterium probing.
