Dr. Bryan McNutt, PhD is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PSY 28897), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 52348), and Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP), with several years of clinical experience and training from within a wide variety of clinical settings. These include inpatient psychiatric treatment, sub-acute psychiatric residential care, intensive outpatient/partial hospitalization treatment, general outpatient rehabilitation counseling, substance abuse treatment, hospice care, military installation support, internal employee assistance, and private practice. Dr. McNutt\'s psychotherapeutic experience includes working with individuals, groups, families, and couples, with specialization in treating traumatic distress, grief and loss, risk assessment, and working with sexual and gender diverse clients. As a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP), Dr. McNutt has worked as both an external affiliate and internal EA provider. Dr. McNutt\'s scope of EA-related work has included the provision of short-term solution-focused counseling, crisis management, critical incident debriefings, supervisory management consultations, leadership coaching, behavioral threat assessment and management (BTAM), and workplace trainings focused on enhancing employee performance and wellbeing, as well as incorporating trauma-informed leadership. Dr. McNutt currently serves as a core member of the campus behavioral threat assessment and management team at UC San Diego with a specialized focus in workplace violence prevention and conducting clinical violence risk assessments. Dr. McNutt is certified through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a Master Trainer in best practices of behavioral threat assessment and management. In addition to his clinical experience, Dr. McNutt has also held positions in administrative management and higher education, including graduate level adjunct faculty instruction in counseling and clinical psychology, as well as responsibilities as a clinical supervisor overseeing the training and professional development of pre-licensed clinicians. He is also a peer reviewer for two APA journals, and a published researcher with a focus on diverse experiences of grief and bereavement, the mental health of sexual and gender minorities, behavioral health in the workplace, workplace violence prevention and mitigation, and organizational trauma.
