ABOUT BRITTANY D HENDERSON

With over seven years as Dean of Student Affairs at Cornish College of the Arts, I led efforts to create a student-centered and inclusive environment that fostered student learning, engagement, and development. Collaborating with leadership and leading cross-functional teams, I contributed to designing and implementing programs that prioritized student advocacy and support, including first-year & transfer orientation and retention initiatives. My work is rooted in strategic thinking, continuous improvement, and assessment, ensuring alignment with institutional goals to enhance the student experience. My expertise spans program development, student services, and diversity initiatives, supported by advanced knowledge of student development theory. I am driven by a commitment to building partnerships that enrich community life and empower students to thrive. My dissertation reflects my dedication to diversity, exploring how higher education leaders successfully implement strategic diversity plans.I am also a multifaceted theater artist, specializing in acting, singing, directing, intimacy coordinating/consulting, and teaching. With a deep commitment to storytelling and ensemble collaboration, I bring a dynamic presence to the stage as a performer, a clear vision as a director, and a safe and supportive approach to staging intimacy. My work spans classical and contemporary theater and I am committed to creating emotionally truthful and inclusive spaces both on and off stage.
