ABOUT BONNIE KWOK
Bonnie is the Business Development Manager for the Greater Cambridge Shared Planning Service. Her role aims to support the economic growth of the Greater Cambridge region, utilising her expertise in commercialisation, urban design, town planning, architecture, youth engagement & delivering social value. Bonnie also leads on the award-winning GCSPS Youth Engagement Service YES and manages the Greater Cambridge Public Art Advisory Service. She is the winner of the prestigious Thornton Education Trust - Inspiring Future Generations Best Youth Engagement Practitioner Award (2022), RTPI Planner Women of Influence (2024), WeAreCity Rising Star Award (2025) & MBE for her services to education & youth engagement (2025).Bonnie is an enthusiastic planner and urban designer with over 25 years post-qualification experience in both the private and public sectors. She is experienced in dealing with new settlements, urban extensions, regeneration and conservation projects, planning policy frameworks, public art as well as facilitating youth engagement programmes. Bonnie is a qualified Workplace Coach and she is experienced in implementing new ways of coaching young people. Project highlights:St. Johns Innovation Park, Cambridge (2025)- Provide urban design advice, public art & youth engagement on the redevelopment of a lab/office building at Vitrum site. Melbourn Science Park, Cambridge (2024)- Provided urban design, public art & youth engagement advice on the redevelopment of site to provide a large lab/office development of circa Cambridge Science Park redevelopment (2014 - present)- Provide urban design & youth engagement advice on the masterplan and other recent developments across the science park, including the Bradfield Centre, Bio Innovation Centre 199 dwellings, East of New Road, Melbourn (2018)- Working as a Principal Planning Officer, Bonnie provided planning and urban design advice.Cambridge North Railway Station (2015)- Provided urban design advice on this railway station which includes parking for bicycles, 450 cars, renewable energy and an interchange facilities with the Cambridge Guided Busway.20, Fenchurch Street, London (The Walkie Talkie)(2009)- Provided urban design advice for the Greater London Authority on this high-profile development which comprised of a 38-storey tower, providing of office floorspace, retail, café, restaurant and a publicly accessible roof garden. Successfully secured design revisions to ensure that the design of the Skygarden is inclusive.
