ABOUT BEATRICE GICHUHI
I am an experienced public health registered nurse with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital & health care industry. Skilled in Trauma Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Emergency Preparedness, Outbreak Response and Global Health. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I led the Tacoma Pierce County Health Department\'s Outbreak Investigations Team and created \"Drop Teams\" made up of multidisciplinary medical professionals that responded to outbreaks in congregate settings. I also served as the Public Health Branch Deputy Director and the Deputy Operations Chief. In 2022, I joined the Epidemic Intelligence Service Program (EIS) at CDC which is a 2-year hands-on training program focusing on advanced applied epidemiology.
