ABOUT BENJAMIN PARAMESWARAN

Dr. Benjamin Parameswaran is a Member of the Executive Committee of the global law firm DLA Piper and is the Firm’s Managing Director for Clients. He was DLA Piper’s Global Co-Chair (Corporate) until 2024, the Managing Partner of DLA Piper in Germany from 20••••22 and previously headed the Firm’s German M&A Group. He has extensive experience in the fields of global M&A and corporate law and advises major multinational corporations in complex cross border transactions. He has been lead advisor for some of the most prominent M&A transactions in Europe. JUVE - the leading guide and ranking institution for the legal services industry in Germany - names Ben for the 11th consecutive year as one of the top 15 M&A lawyers in Germany (up to 50 yrs.), as \"one of the most important partners for cross-border M&A\" and quotes clients stating that Ben is \"one of the leading minds for M&A in Germany\" and a \"brilliant negotiator\". Chambers Global and Chambers Germany rank Ben as one of the two leading Tier 1 practitioners for mid-cap M&A in Germany and as a foreign expert for M&A in India. Ben studied law in Hamburg, Paris and New York and is an alumnus of Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes as well as a Scholar of International Max Planck Research School (where Ben obtained a PhD in international law). Ben completed DLA Piper’s global senior leadership program at Harvard University (HBS and HLS). Prior to joining DLA, Ben worked with M&A firms in New York, Düsseldorf and Mumbai. Earlier in his career, Ben was recognized in the German Top 40 under 40. He was also involved in international government-related work (including at the International Energy Agency (OECD) in Paris and advising the Vietnamese government on world trade law issues in the services industry in preparation of Vietnam\'s accession to WTO). Ben is a supervisory board member of MCF Corporate Finance, a leading European corporate finance and debt advisory company, and a member of a variety of legal associations, including the Indo-German Lawyers Association (former Vice President), a frequent speaker at conferences as well as the author of numerous publications (academic and business press) and handbooks on international law.
