Dr. Basem Hamid MD, is a board-certified physician in both Pain Medicine and Neurology. Trained at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, where he served as an Assistant Professor and Director of the Pain Fellowship Program, Basem Hamid MD of Houston, TX brings extensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex pain conditions. Dr. Basem Hamid MD received his medical degree from Damascus University School of Medicine and completed his postgraduate training with an internship at Mount Sinai University, a residency in Internal Medicine/Neurology at West Virginia University (where he was Chief Resident in Neurology), and a Pain Medicine Fellowship at The University of Iowa. Prior to his role at MD Anderson, Dr. Basem Hamid MD of Houston, TX was an Assistant Professor of Neurology and Anesthesiology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A dedicated researcher, he has been a principal investigator in numerous studies focused on pain care, particularly neuropathic and cancer pain. His contributions to the field include multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on various pain-related topics. Dr. Basem Hamid MD has also served as a reviewer for esteemed publications such as Spine and The Journal of Pain.
