ABOUT AYO OLUFADE

About Section/Personal Value Proposition Statement I develop the curriculum and instructional design for secondary STEAM programs and community outreach to meet the needs of school systems and students. Informed by my early career as a researcher and biologist at the National Institute of Health and the Henry M Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, and nearly two decades spent transforming STEAM instruction and programming within large, public-school districts in and around Washington, D.C, I am passionate about creating the systems of support for STEAM educators and students alike to thrive. As the district-wide Chemistry curriculum writer for Charles County Public Schools, I developed curricula and academic resources used by more than 75 teachers across 8 high schools. Previously, I led the Science Department at Buck Lodge Middle School to achieve student scores on the Maryland State Assessment that were 15% higher than any other middle school in the district. Throughout my work in school and district leadership roles, I’ve led award-winning robotics programs, shaped school approaches to professional learning communities, and developed the mindsets and capacity of STEAM educators to best serve students. I am fired up about infusing technology into modern instruction and academic programming and have demonstrated success in training educators in adopting state-of-the-art tech and systems to meet ambitious learning needs.
